Why you need a

Sober Living House

Maintaining sobriety is harder than getting sober and requires long-term commitment. Leaving rehab without a strong aftercare plan can risk relapse, especially in triggering environments.

Sober living houses offer a safe, supportive space for those not ready to return home, helping individuals ease back into life while continuing to heal. Serenity House provides a residential aftercare program that bridges the gap between rehab and normal life, offering personalised treatment plans and peer support to promote lasting recovery.

How It's Work

The benefits of Communal Living

Sober living homes offer a strong support network and community to help residents manage the challenges and triggers they may face when returning to everyday life.

The length of stay varies based on factors such as recovery progress, clinical milestones, and personal circumstances. A minimum stay of three months is recommended, though many benefit from a longer stay for lasting sobriety. This extended time helps establish routines, treatment, and support that promote independence and fulfillment. Residents also relearn essential life skills like healthy living, career development, budgeting, and self-reliance.

Four key pillars explain the effectiveness of social support in recovery:

01.

Goal-setting and structure

03.

Positive role models in recovery

02.

Recovery-focused social activities

04.

A safe space to practice coping skills and build confidence in their new identity
Here's a little more information on

Treatment at Serenity House

Our treatment programme at Serenity House focuses on safety, empowerment, and support. Residents can establish interpersonal relationships and put practical skills that they have to use. They are also encouraged to take part in new activities, hobbies and attend to studies, work and or voluntary work in the surrounding communities.

Developing life skills

Residents’ recovery programs include daily living activities to build essential life skills for reintegration into society. The program follows structured phases that gradually promote personal growth. In the first phase, residents experience more structure and fewer freedoms to ease the transition and practice new behaviors. The final phase offers more freedom and challenges, always supported by the safety net of Serenity House.

Adapting to sober living

The program has found that setting clear limits and responsibilities early on helps individuals adjust to the sober living environment. As residents gain stability in both their recovery and daily routines, they are better equipped to handle the increased freedom and autonomy of later phases. Structured days, personalised coaching, and group meetings provide the support needed to resist temptation and effectively manage triggers.

One-on-One sessions

Our support staff, in-house psychologist, and counselors work closely with residents through group and one-on-one sessions. These sessions focus on individual goals, create personalized care plans, and connect residents with external support networks. Residents are encouraged to pursue employment, community work, or further education to build a strong foundation for their future lives and careers.
